Mycotoxin Screening<\/h2>\n

Mycotoxins are the toxic secondary chemical byproduct of Fungi that have colonized on various agricultural commodities in the field and\/or during storage. Mycotoxins can cause disease and death in both humans and other animals.<\/p>\n

Exposure to highly carcinogenic Ochratoxins or Aflatoxins\u2014two types of mycotoxins\u2014can cause abdominal pain, edema, hemorrhaging, liver damage, mental impairment, convulsions, coma, and even death.<\/p>\n

We use LCMS with high -performance liquid chromatography to identify and quantify mycotoxins.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/section>

What Causes Mycotoxin Contamination?<\/h2>\n

Like mold and mildew, susceptibility to fungal contamination is influenced by environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and level of rainfall from pre- to post-harvest. The extent of contamination will vary with geographic location, agricultural and agronomic practices, and the susceptibility of commodities to fungal invasion. Sensitive times are during pre-harvest, storage, and\/or processing periods.<\/p>\n
