DigiPath Inc. (DIGPD 0.35 3.70%), a provider of reliable testing, education, and training to the cannabis industry, recently announcedthat it has successfully completed its first commercial test of cannabis material at its Las Vegas facility. As one of only two labs in the region, the company is well positioned at the forefront of what is anticipated to become a rapidly growing industry in the Silver State.

“We are open for business,” said DigiPath Inc. CEO Todd Denkin in the recent press release announcing the successful testing. “It’s been a very long and arduous process, but we jumped through all the hoops and cleared the obstacles, and now we’re testing cannabis products and generating revenue, an important milestone to our shareholders.”

States like Nevada are increasingly requiring cannabis products to be tested to quantify cannabinoid and terpenoid levels and ensure the products do not contain potentially unsafe levels of contaminants, such as pesticides, mold, insects, heavy metals, and solvents. Of the 23 states that permit medical marijuana, eight currently require testing and five additional states are considering testing legislation, which is likely to expand over the coming years.

“We don’t see any other industry experiencing this level of growth,” added Mr. Denkin. “And, we’re very excited about the future.”

DigiPath supports the cannabis industry’s best practices for reliable testing, education, and training, and brings unbiased cannabis news covering to the industry through its four business units: DigiPath Labs, TNM News Corp., DigiPath Corp., and DigiPath U.
