One medical marijuana expert is saying it is less than a month until marijuana is sold for the first time in southern Nevada.
This news was shared in a small cement room in DigiPath Labs among women who grow the plant that patients are looking for. However, the product is not available for sale yet.
The Women Grow Conference took place in Las Vegas and is a regional meeting for a national group of women who want to get involved in the marijuana industry.
After all, without growers, that industry will not get off the ground.
The sale of medical marijuana has not yet happened in Nevada, but as attorney and co-chair, Amanda Connor says, it will happen soon.
"We are looking at a really heavily regulated multi-million dollar industry and we have to do it right," Connor said.
So, when will Southern Nevada patients be able to buy their medicine?
According to Connor, sales of marijuana could happen by the end of the month.
"They have flowering plants," Connor said in talking about cultivation facilities in southern Nevada.
Two years after sales became legal, marijuana dispensaries are closer than ever before to opening in Las Vegas.
